The CTD Model A480E has been specifically engineered for accurate
production sawing of non-ferrous metals, plastics and woods. The
A480E automatically feeds materials through the machine, clamps it,
and saws pieces to a predetemined length within +/- .005.

The automatic barfeed and controlling air circuit are operated by an
electronic programmable controller and electric swtiches for
easy service.

The A480E uses our time tested 400 Series saw head offering assured
precision cutting. Three independent holding vises are used, one to
feed the material, and one on each side of the blade. The vises are
keyed and movable front to back for easy adjustment of different
widths of material.

STANDARD FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS:

Blade Capacity: 16” (406mm) OD; optional 20” (504mm); saw blade
not included.

Arbor & Pivot: 1” (25mm) with 5” (127mm) saw collars, spindle
mounted on preloaded and sealed bearings, with V-belt drive
completely enclosed; pivot uses Timken bearings lubricated for life.

Motors & Starters: 7-1/2 H.P. 3 Phase 230/460 Volt Totally Enclosed
Fan Cooled Motors with Magnetic Starter standard; 10 H.P.& 15 H.P.
motors available as optional extra.

Material Feeding Mechanism: The feed vise mechanism has a built-in
precision measuring device, including a precision measuring screw,
allowing quick movements of 1/2” (12mm) increments, and adjustments
of one thousandths of an inch (.001); machine will feed up to 12”
(305mm) on single stroke, 24” (610mm) on double stroke, or 36”
(915mm) on triple stroke.

Vises: There are three vises on the A480E; all vises are equipped
with 3” (127mm) high removable vise inserts.

Air Hydraulic Power Downfeed of Saw Head: The saw head on
the A480E is driven by a combination of air and hydraulic cylinders,
allowing for very fine adjustment of the speed of the saw head.

Bent Stock Compensator: Allows for slightly warped or bent
material to be fed.

Out of Stock Stop: Machine will stop if there is no more
material to be fed.
